EUCONCIP is an association legally based in Italy established in 2016 with the aim to foster cross-country and cross-sector cooperation in the field of the Critical Infrastructure Protection. The main objective of EUCONCIP is to contribute to the development of a harmonized approach to be adopted for the protection of critical infrastructures which are essential for the maintenance of vital societal functions, health, safety, security, economic or social well-being of people (EU Directive 2008/114/EC).

Natural disasters, human errors, terrorist attacks and criminal activity are among the existing threats which may cause disruption in belonging critical infrastructure belonging to key sectors. Prevention, preparedness, response and resilience are challenges that EUCONCIP association intends to address in terms of awareness raising and knowledge sharing among relevant stakeholders by benefitting from key expert members' experience and competences in the field.

The EUCONCIP association was born at the end of EUCONCIP Project and its founding members are six project partner organisations participating in a EU funded project entitled "European Cooperation Network on Critical Infrastructure - EUCONCIP - under Prevention, Preparedness and Consequence Management of Terrorism and other Security-related Risks programme (CIPS) of the DG Home Affairs whose main purpose was to set the ground for a European partnership between critical infrastructures stakeholders to strengthen public-private international cooperation and to exchange public available information on Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Associated members will achieve EUCONCIP goals undertaking joint activities such as research, training and networking oriented predominantly consisting in:

  • Scientific publications

EUCONCIP financial sustainability is ensured by the membership fee including also other financial sources such as contributions and donations from third parties and funds gathered from funding schemes at both national and international level.
